When planning a winter wedding, we hope for that bright day where the light bounces off the snow and sparkles. This styled wedding took place in the snowy banks of Mount Rainier in Washington, with the evergreen trees standing tall against the magnificent peaked mountains backdrop. The theme for this winter wedding included figs, citrus and colorful florals accented with antlers and rosemary. The colors of the elements ranging from deep burgundy to bright orange are a beautiful contrast to the surrounding white. And many of these elements are featured in the details for the invitations and the calligraphy place cards.
The place cards are of translucent vellum allowing some of the detail of the vintage plates to show through. Vellum has a perfect frosty feel for a winter wedding and used not only for the calligraphy place cards, but as a decorative overlay for the invitation. The sweeping and elegant calligraphy is hand written with a dip pen and burgundy colored ink.
The invitation features a hand drawn mantle of antlers, figs and florals, overhanging the calligraphy of the couples’ names. Deep forest green envelopes contrasted the white handmade paper and burgundy ink.
Letting the winter scene of your wedding inspire your invitations and calligraphy table details is a perfect way to tie all it all together.
